If your child accumulates 26 points or more, they may qualify for braces through Medi-Cal. If your child meets the point threshold, we will take a high-precision digital scan of their teeth.

The Role of 3D Technology in Approval

Instead of sending messy impressions, we use advanced 3D scanning and 3D printing technology to create an exact model of your child’s teeth. This allows Medi-Cal to clearly see the extent of crowding, misalignment, or bite issues. These detailed models often give patients a better chance of getting approved for orthodontic treatment.

Once the 3D printed models are ready, our office sends them directly to Medi-Cal for review. Medi-Cal will then count the points:
